Mychelle (she/they), the founder of Therapy to A Tea Co, is a queer Black femme who is a licensed professional counselor in the District of Columbia, and in Pennsylvania. Mychelle is also a Nationally Certified Counselor. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in Xavier University of Louisiana and her Master’s degree from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Mychelle is an EMDR trained therapist and a Psychedelic Assisted therapist that specializes in radical, trauma-informed care practices for those who are racially diverse, neurodiverse and gender expansive. In addition to clinical care, Mychelle has collaborated with organizations and schools such as Smile Therapy Services, Microsoft, The Census Bureau, Accenture, The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Rutgers, and Jansen Pharmaceuticals on best practices for building and maintaining inclusive and supportive spaces for LGBTQ+ and gender expansive, Black, POC and neurodiverse patients, students, staff and employees. Mychelle has appeared on podcasts such as Therapy for Black Girls and Black Sapphic Series has been cited in digital publications such as Business Insider, Mind Body Green and Refinery29.
